Inflammation can cause many problems in the body. From pain to poor recovery, reducing inflammation is a positive thing. You can cure minor aches and pains without the need for over-the-counter medicines. You can decrease recovery time from workouts, improve heart health, and reduce stress by lowering inflammation. Below is a list of foods that promote this. Try substituting some in your diet. I’m sure you’ll see an improvement.

Foods That Reduce Inflammation (By Category)


Fish – Wild Atlantic salmon, sardines, anchovies, mackerel, cod, stripped bass, tuna

Nuts – Flaxseed, almonds, hazelnuts, sunflower seeds, walnuts

Fruits – All berries, avocado, kiwi, lime, papaya, pineapple

Vegetables – Bell peppers, bok choy, cauliflower, garlic, kale, onions

Oils – Cold pressed extra virgin olive oil, avocado oil, coconut oil, macadamia nut oil

Spices – Basil, mint, oregano, turmeric
